Week 4 Fantasy Football Brainstorm: Tim & Dubz

  Wednesday, September 26, 2007  Sound Off!(2) :: permalink
Dubz:  Another one in the books, another awesome week that I'm sure people are stuck at the water cooler talking about it.  Skins finally lost, of course.  After tearing up the first half... the second half they never left the locker room.  Sad.  I digress.  Some killer performances this weekend though.  Moss hits the endzone again - twice.  Kevin Curtis & McNabb owned the Lions... along with Westbrook.  Man what a show.  See Roy in that game?  91 yard TD catch.  There is a career highlight for ya.

Tim: Yeah, we all knew the skins would lose – it was inevitable – so don't feel bad – they just aren't "there" yet – but I think if you stick by 'em, they will be soon enough. I remember writing a piece for our column about McNabb – I really think he's starting to come around. I just hope he'll give himself a chance to heal completely up and get back to 100% - seems like he hasn't been 100% since game one of his rookie year. I was surprised to see Cincy get beat, and was sad to see the Texans give it up.  What did you think about the Saints? I was on the bandwagon of the Saints earlier on in the preseason – but boy was I wrong?!

Dubz:  I can hear the flack I will get for saying this, but I am not saying it in a disrespectful way at all.  Read this line, and then let me explain before I get 9 million comments about how crappy of a person I am.  I think the Saints need another hurricane, if they plan on turning their season around.  Last year, that whole city rallied around that team.  This year, everyone just gave them the benefit of the doubt that they would be good.  So no rally, no ovations... nothing.  So now you have a team that is winless - wondering what happened.  With Duece out now, that team better figure out if Reggie Bush is everything he thinks he is.  Cincy hurt my feelings too.  Those guys are better than that.  I am done betting on them - promise ya that.  The Texans played good ball, but they were just outplayed.  Still think they are a top 10 team, they are playing awesome.  How about Favre bringing back the pack?  What a player he is.

Tim:  Favre – FAV-RAY – man, I can't say enough about this guy. He is and always has been one of my favorite players. I think no one in the game plays with as much intensity and heart as this man, nor as much childlike enthusiasm. I'm extremely exstatic that he and the Packers are doing well. Like I said at the beginning of this season, I think Favre is on his last mission, his way out the door to the HoF, and I think he plans on creating a splash or two on his way. I like it, and as far as fantasy football goes, he's proving to be a starter this season. As far as New Orleans, I understand what you are saying – I might not have said it in those words, but you do have a point – this year we all gave them the benefit of the doubt. I really expected Brees and Bush to continue the momentum; but that's just not happening. I still think they have mucho talent on that team, and I think they can turn it around, WITHOUT a hurricane, I just think they need to dig deep and find out what they are made of, and they need their fans to hold 'em up and support 'em. What's your take on the New England/Indy discussion? I mean, do you think we're going to see those two as the top teams in the NFL this season? Where does Pitt fit into that equation?

Dubz: New England is no doubt the best team in the NFL.  Cheating or no cheating.. they own all right now.  Indy is still the Super Bowl champs, and they are clicking as well, but NE is playing better than anyone right now.  Moss - wow.  If I had to give my top 5 teams in the NFL... here ya go: NE, IND, DAL, PIT, GB.   All of those teams deserve to be where they are and no one can take anything away from them right now.  If I had to call it right now, I would say it will be a NE/DAL Super Bowl - and I am far from a Dallas fan.  Respect though... I have to give them respect right now.  T.O. is in love with Romeo (I know how to spell - its a joke about love) and it shows.  They were exploiting that CHI defense on Sunday and wow did they show they were for real.  That DEF still needs a little help, but with time they will settle and get some of those injuries figured out.  Newman being back will help them.  PIT is killer right now, I wouldn't want to play them, hell any of those top 5 teams.  No one could have guessed facing the Chargers instead of the Packers would be a blessing.  How about these injuries?  Deuce out for the season, SJ is out for a couple weeks at least with a partial tear of his groin (OUCH!), Hines Ward out, Westbrook could miss some time... not a fun time for fantasy football if you ask me.  Or does this make it more fun?

Tim:  I think you just hit the nail on the head. I think between injuries and bye weeks, we’re going to start seeing a lot more action on the wire and trading blocks. People will have to start trading up in order to put a full starting team out there each week. I hate that these players get hurt, and some of them, I am in awe that they are the ones getting hurt. It seems like quite a few of the top positional players are taking early leave due to injury. I mean it is inevitable, every year; week 3 brings us at least 2 or 3 major injuries, and then the nagging ones start showing up in weeks 5 and 6. That’s the situation where strategy really starts kicking in for the fantasy football coaches. Now you have to put up or shut up. Anyone can take anyone of the top 5 or 6 players in each position in a live draft – but how you manage all the unknown variables throughout the season, that’s what makes you either a great Fantasy Football Coach, or a loser wannabe.

As far as the top 5 teams, I couldn’t agree with you more. Some of these teams are just unreal, comparatively from last year. I mean they were all decent last year, (well everyone except GB), but this year there have been some MAJOR changes and I like what I’m seeing. I think, if everyone keeps it up, we’re in for a HUGELY competitive post season this year!

Week 3 Fantasy Football Brainstorm

  Friday, September 21, 2007  Sound Off!(2) :: permalink
Dubz:  Oh man what a week huh?  I have to say, the NFL suprises me every week.  Cleveland?  WTF!!?!!  I had so much money on the Bengals... they screwed up my parlay like a mutha.  No regrets though.  I had Palmer in a few leagues, couldn't get too mad.  6 TDs!  Sign me up.  Chad Johnson fans were lovin' life too.  Housh-ya-mama fans were diggin' it too.  Rudi fans... not so much.  What were your thoughts?

Tim:  You aren't lying Dubz. As I watched these games, I was in awe as the scores started scrolling across the bottom of the screen. But, think back, we usually have very unusual results in the first 2 or 3 weeks. Usually it's all about the new powerhouse team because they looked so great the first 3 games – I guess what I'm trying to say, is that although I like Houston a lot – I'm not ready to say they'll be the champs based on the first 2 games of the season. Things usually settle down around week 4 and I think we'll start to see a lot more stability arise. I would hate to bet on the first 2 or 3 weeks in the NFL – it always seems to pack a surprise.

Dubz:  Yeah bettin' isn't that fun, but the lines are usually skewed a bit - which can give you some great lines to bet on.  Houston... I like what I'm seeing, that is for sure.  I have always like Shaub, so to see him finally get a chance to start - amazing.  With Andred Johnson out this week though, they won't be able to hang with the champs.  Their DEF will likely be on the field too much and begin to let it slip in the final quarters.  Lots of funny teams with 2-0 records... probably doesn't mean anything though.  Skins, Lions, Packers...  couldn't have guessed that when the season kicked off.  Being a Skins fan it is exciting to finally see them have a QB that can throw something further than 30 yards.   Portis is running good... passing game is active.  That secondary is sick - Landry, Taylor & Rogers.  Wow.  Shutting down folks all day long.  I think they will get after the G.I. ants this weekend.  Got some money on that.

Tim:  If I was a bettin' man, I would put my money on the Ants in that one – I would think it'd be a 50/50 shot – I'm not sure how the ant's running game is with Jacobs out/hurt – but Manning showed some signs of life so far, and I don't really want to count him out. I agree, it should be a pretty good game to watch, because the forskins are finally coming together as a team and there's just no telling – amazing what value a "throwing" QB can bring eh? On a different note – what's your take on the 49ers @ Pitt this week? I am interested in this game, I think mainly because of the offensive changes in making Big Ben more of a throwing QB – sucks for Parker owners, but I really think the Steelers DEF will stop Gore, and that leaves all the weight on Alex Smith – which isn't a good thing… Is this going to be a stomping? Or a Shootout?

Dubz:  I think the 49ers are the worst team at 2-0.  Don't jump on me you 9ers fans.  I don't want to hear it.  Your team hasn't played anyone with a name yet.  Cardinals are the same team every year, the Rams have lost a step or two.  I see a blow out in that game, big time.  Steelers are playing at a whole 'nother level.  Alex Smith lacks the big WRs that could make their team a threat.  I mean D-Jax is good, but he isn't a T.O. or Ocho Cinco.  He's a run of the mill WR.  He would be awesome if he had someone on the other side of him... but until then.  Expect the 49ers to rely on Frank Gore to get the job done.  Another one I'm ready to watch... Bears & Cowboys.  Bears DEF is still doing their thing... their offense is about the same - expecting to see Brian Griese get some snaps in this one (yup, I'm predicting the downfall of Grossman), if Grossman doesn't get the job done.  Cowboys better be able to use "Da Barber" though - to eat up some clock and wear down that tough Bears DEF.  If they Bears stay fresh on DEF... it is too tough to keep up with them.  AND DO NOT KICK TO HESTER!  Do you not understand?

Tim:  Haha... don't kick it to Hester is right!  As you know, I'm a fan of the 'Boys - and I'm always looking for a win each week.  I think Romo is killin' it and the Bears DEF better be ready for the passing attack.  I would expect the Bears DEF to really hold down thier homefield - since that is what they do best.  The Bears Offense though... now I'm wondering if Grossman will get the job done.  He is, like I have said before - a roller coaster ride.  But it isn't any fun, if your a Bears fan.  Should be a killer week - I'm PUMPED!  R U READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!

Week 1: Fantasy Football Brainstorm

  Thursday, September 6, 2007  Sound Off!(0) :: permalink
Lots of things going on in your fantasy football brain prior to the start of week 1... gotta get them out.  Enjoy.

Dubz:  Can't believe that it is finally here, Week 1.  Seemed like this year took forever to get going full force.  Drafts should be done, lineups gettin' finalized... everything moving towards tonight.  Colts & Saints.  What a great kickoff game eh?  Sign this fat kid up.  I want the Saints to be for real (which I think they are, but still), however I can't bail on the Champs.  Colts will show the Saints why they won the whole thing last year.  Show them what they are missing.  Saints will grow up this game, realize the NFC isn't where the talent is... it is where it goes to die.  Sad saying that as a Redskins fan... but its true.

Tim: Yes indeed, seems like a long time since last year's season. A lot has changed, and a lot hasn't changed. There is a chill in the air, and on my skin – I'm locked, loaded, and ready for tonight's kickoff – it's been a long time coming. Break out the wings, beverages, and turn up the volume – it's going to be pumping like no other tonight. I know the Colts are the champs – and I give them the edge in tonight's battle – HOWEVER – I, in no way, see a huge blowout this game – I think the Saints did their growing up last year, I think they plan to bring the heat and I think they will. It will be exciting, and I think we'll have a high scoring offensive game on our hands this eve.

Dubz:  I'm with you on this one... should be close, but hopefully high scoring.  Moving forward a few days - to Sunday, Raiders are staying quite about the starter - but I heard through the grapevine... it isn't going to be Culpepper.  I still think Culpepper has a chance to make a comeback.  I don't want him on my team just yet, but over Josh McCown - yeah definetly.  I know the Raiders haven't planned on any of this, they though JaMarcus would be in there doing work by now.  I heard he is gettin' close to signing also... could stir the pot a bit more when he gets in game-shape.  Poor Raiders... one day they will bring it back to par.

Tim: I could have gone all week without the mention of the Raiders. Uggh. One of the only teams that can depress you on opening day… Thanks a lot Dubz. Really. I do understand where you are coming from – I think they have a lot of "organization" to do – I think Culpepper needs to start, just because I've seen what he "can" do – and it isn't like he wouldn't have someone to throw to.  That being said – I can't tell you how bad it burns my hide when rookie's decide to hold out – I just don't understand – they always shoot themselves in the foot (a la Cedric Benson).  Anyway, I won't get off on that tail – another Sunday game that holds some interest for those that have any Falcons on their team – Atlanta vs. Minnesota. I've heard more about Vick's legal issues when Falcons are mentioned than how the team is moving forward from losing their #1 player. I think it will be interesting how they respond – I mean it's not like they can get any lower – but will they remain at the bottom with the likes of Houston, or will they step it up this year and play with some heart?

Dubz:  Atlanta is a city that rallies for their sports teams.  I expect Dunn (one of the best football players outside the field), Norwood, Horn & Harrington to rise above.  Add in Crumpler and you have a decent shot at ruinin' some Sundays for opponents.  Will they get going right away?  Doubting that - but Minnesota is the team you want to draw out of a hat.  I am excited to see Adrian Peterson (own him in a few leagues), he should be fun to watch on any given sunday.  Speakin' of any given sunday, I'm ready to see if my 'Skins have formulated the team a little better since last year.  Glad Brunell has been packed away (3rd, behind Collins & Campbell now), I hated that period of Redskin-ivity.  Not fun.  Seems like since the Champ trade... we have the curse of the Champino.  Don't bring it up.  Seriously.

Tim: What shouldn't be brought up is the fact that you are a 'skin's fan. That's not something to be spreading around Dubz; I mean, don't admit it... I think you may be right about the Falcons, just sucks that Vick had to go all inhumane on them this season – they finally have some all around talent, and then off he goes to prison. Good one Mike, good one! A real HOF'er you are! Adrian Peterson – MAN OH MAN! This guy creates a tingle of excitement for all football fans, I don't know if there has been a RB with more potential than him since the days of early Emmit – I really think he's going to blow it up, I just hope he gets some talent around him to help him out – OR maybe the moronic Jerry Jones will pull him to the 'Boys and get their running game back up to what it needs to be.

Dubz:  Freakin' Cowboys.  Please.  Not going to get into it with you.  Redskins and Cowboys fans just don't mix to well.  Oil & water if you ask me.  So lets leave it like that.  I'm ready to see a few of these guys that have changed teams.  Randy Moss, Travis Henry, Jamal Lewis, McGahee... Trent Green.  I hope all of them fair well, hate to see people struggle for new teams.  Exciting to think we will get to see them in new duds, running downfield, breakin' tackles and such.  Man I can't wait.  Also ready to see Manning tonight... T.O. score some TDs, LT make some HUGE runs.  Man its football brother... its been a long time.  If I could... I would give football a hug and welcome it back.  No homo.
Tim:  I’m also ready to see who is going to do what, and how they are going to do it – it’s shaping up to be a well rounded season and I will enjoy indulging myself with all this great football action. All in all, this season should be very entertaining and should prove to be one of the better seasons for some time. Lots of changes have taken place, and lots of freshmen, get ready to rumble.

Plaxico Burress or Randy Moss?

  Tuesday, September 4, 2007  Sound Off!(0) :: permalink
Tim & I (Dubz) are in a fantasy league together and we were trying to make a trade happen, and got into a bit of a fantasy football war via email.  We took a snippet out of it and thought we would share it with our viewers.  Lots of good points and what not for people trying to sell Plax or Moss this season at a high price.  See below for our fantasy football email war:

Tim:  "sorry - was hopin' to get moss of your hands, but not for that price. Was thinkin' plax, but those numbers are way off to. Maybe there is something in there - but for now, keep the moss unit."
Heh, I understand what you mean – but in the case of Moss, I don't think you can compare last years numbers accurately with some of these guys – this year it is more of apples and apples as compared to last years stats being oranges/apples with him having NO team support or QB – while I'm all for getting a trade out of moss – it will have to be something comparable to what he's "projected" to do this year, with Brady at the helm – you know how I feel about moss, but I'm still not gonna just give him a way… there's always that chance that you are right about him ;P

Plax – eh, I dunno about that dude, he's burned me a couple of times…

Dubz: Plax is good for 10 TDs & 1000 yards... I'm just hopin' Moss will make it back there, but realistically, 7 TDs and 800 yards would be an awesome season for him.

Tim: Eh, I dunno bro – Plax's career average for TDs is 5½  - true, this last year he hit 10, but I don't see him doing that again this season. I could be wrong, maybe he's finally come into a solid player – I would bet he hits about 7 or 8 this year.  Manning will start spreading out the ball, with Jacobs running the ball… BUT, he could fall into the "any given Sunday" category – and blow it up this year…

However, this year Moss has a WAAAY better qb on his side, a much stronger team around him… but I really have to go on potential on this one, and Moss' past clearly shows the potential he possesses when he has a strong QB chunking at him, while Plaxico's past shows a lot of average stats – I have to give the contest between the two to Moss, hands down – I think he'll be the one throwing up 10 – 12 TD's this season, even without the randy ratio in place – the Pats offense is just a lot stronger than NYG and will move the ball down the field a lot easier and effective – even if Moss doesn't gain a lot of yardage, I think he'll get those red zone TD's for nothing else other than his vertical ability…

Dubz:  I like the argument... but... it wouldn't be an argument without another side.

You can wipe the first year off the record.  Playing 3rd WR really...  Had Hines ward in his prime hauling things in.  QB position was questionable too.  When he got traded to Giants and became the #1 - he blossomed.  Shockey has to get covered, so if he gets single coverage - he can vertical over anyone.  His catching skills are ill.  Throw a ball up and he comes down with it like a young Moss.  Stumblin’, bumblin' to the end zone.  Also, Manning is coming into what he should be.  Last year, Manning and Plax found their timing and they were dead on.

The stat that kills all....

16 yards per catch…  OUCH.  Throw him 5 balls... that is close to 100, and he's taking in 1 for a TD.  His YAC was nuts last year too it seemed like.
Moss - I love the guy, no question about it.  His QBs throwing the ball to him in the past couple years... Crickey... bad news.  I can't argue that, but part of me says... he's been far from great for a few too many years, rebounding to 10-12 is a leap for him.  7-9... maybe.  I would put money on Plax hitting 10 this year with ease.

Who wins the battle?  Probably goes deeper into the team schedule, QB-WR relationship, surrounding cast or lack there of and coaching schemes.  We all know they are both top notch WRs, value wise, if either end up killin' it... owners will get ROI on them.

Top Ten Fantasy Football Players You Love Your Opponents to Own

  Thursday, August 30, 2007  Sound Off!(1) :: permalink
In no particular order...

1. Clinton Portis

Dubz: So you watch as your opponent took Portis as their first RB pick, since they were on the tail end of the first round in a big league.  You were sitting pretty, but couldn't help but laugh - since you had Portis last year and ate it in your pay league when he went out injured.  Add in the fact that Ladell Betts' role as backup has almost elevated to a split when it comes to carries, and you have a former stud that is involved in a perfect storm of sorts.  You remember how the movie Perfect Storm ended right?  Exactly.  When you have a first tier RB on your roster and you look at your opponent for next week and see the #1 back and he is Clinton Portis... smile and know that someway or another, that owner will be crying in his Redskins hat by the end of the week.

Tim: Ahh – the Perfect Storm – man Dubz, that's the perfect comparison for Portis. I remember the Denver days, the guy was unbelievable – just goes to show you how important "context" players are. Heh. Never had this guy on one of my teams, and I assure you, I never will.

2. Rod Smith

Dubz: Rod Smith has a been a staple for excellence at WR over the past 10 years or so.  If nothing else, fantasy football coaches seem to always draft him for brand name reasons.  Personally, I would rather own Mike Vick that Rod Smith this year.  In his 11 season in the NFL, Rod has put up 8 - 1000+ yard seasons.  That is an awesome stat.  I will give him that.  However, last year... his stats fell off to 512 yards and 3 TDs for his 16 games.  With a new QB at the helm and Javon Walker stealing most of the big balls and redzone passes... Rod is a thing of the past.  Line up Kevin Curtis, Vincent Jackson or Braylon Edwards against Rod this year and watch him struggle, along with your opponent.  Time for the HOF for you Rod, Elway is gone... Shannon is gone... TD has retired.  It is time to go.  Unless you want to be on my opponent's team - then give it another year. ;)

Tim: It's really sad when someone doesn't realize their time in the light has faded – but not as sad as it'll be if he's on my opponent's team on any given week – whoever the poor sap that picked him up (SURELY no one would waste a draft pick on this guy, even in the largest of leagues) will be crying like a newborn getting his butt slapped for the first time.

3. Brett Favre

Dubz:  Speaking of things of the past...  remember when Favre would go in round 2?  When he put up 30+ TDs, and kept his INTs down to normal?  I know its a stretch to think back that far.  Only kidding... we are talking about one of the best QBs of all time.  In terms of fantasy football though, we can't dwell on the past.  You can only really look at a few season back and hope this season coming up will be close or better.  If you look at those 3 seasons we are speaking of... 64 INTs.  If you are in a league that that penalizes for INTs, no need to go any further.  Last year - 18 TDs, 18 INTs.  No fun at all.  Unless he is on your opponent's team right?  Then you are high-fiving after each Fox News Break that shows Favre's latest pass getting run back for a TD.  **high five**

Tim: I just can't find it in my heart to make fun of, or put negative spin on Favre. The guy is a legend and plays with more heart on the field than anyone ever has, or will, in my opinion. He's had a run of some bad luck and maybe some not-so-thought-out actions out on the field the last couple of years – but as his tenure comes to a close, I think he's going to slow down and play a little more "smart-ball" and I sincerely hope he puts up some (at least) decent numbers in the next season or two (if he sticks around for another). Granted, he's never been that high of a fantasy player – and I wouldn't pick him up on my team – the man is a great football quarterback. Having said that; if someone else picks him up and plays him against my team, I can't help but to knowingly smile.

4. DeShaun Foster

Dubz:  Sooooooo much potential for this guy.  I remember owning him the week he came back from injury a few years back to throw 2 TDs and over 200 yards.  What a day.  Then DeAngelo Williams was put beside him, and they have been fighting injuries together, along with fighting for playing time.  DeShaun Foster is one of my favorite players to see lined up against my #2 or flex spot come Sunday.  What will his stat line be this week, I ask myself.  24 yards and 2 fumbles?  54 yards total offense?  Perfect, I will take my 1 TD & 60 yards out of my flex spot any day instead of this guy.  Foster... fosters problems and festers like an ingrown toenail needing attention.  Stay away from the pus, let your opponent take him and make sure not to take any hot checks when he pays you for his entry fee.

Tim: Foster – it's Australian for sidelined.

5. Jamal Lewis

Dubz: The felon himself.  If you looking for a sponsor for your next drug deal, draft this guy round 1, pick 1.  ;)  I kid, I kid.  Jamal put up some absolutely insane numbers one year.  I barely remember.  His murdering of Cleveland.  Wow... what a stud.  Wait, that was 4 years ago.  Keep that in mind when you are looking over your weekly opponent and see this guy.  His 5.3 avg over that season was stellar to say the least.  Since... about 3.6 avg.  I will take on any team that thinks Jamal Lewis will be a killer in Cleveland this year.  Remember, now that he is on Cleveland... he won't be able to face the Browns each year.  That takes his stats down at least 300-500 yards a season.  I wish there was 16 Jamal Lewis-s that folks could draft in my pay league - so I could face him once a week.  Drugs are bad m'kay?

Tim: There’s always the good, the bad, and the ugly. I think Jamal Lewis is one of few subjects where you can kill two birds with one stone. The “bad” and the “ugly” are both covered by Jamal Lewis – I’ll have to get back to you on the “good” – I can’t find anything related to “good” when it comes to this guy…

6. Rex Grossman

Tim: I think the biggest rollercoaster in the world should be named Grossman. The one with the highest hills and lowest valleys. Grossman is more of a craps game when dealing fantasy football. He definitely has his ups – the problem is he's so sporadic and can go from 5 touchdowns last week to 0 with 5 INTs this week. He can be brilliant, but most the time he's not. In larger leagues, this gamble might payoff – kind of like in the financial world when you dollar cost average your stock/funds purchasing… You know, where you buy the same stock each week, regardless of cost – sometimes you buy lower, sometimes higher, in the end, you usually break even or even up a little – but in fantasy football, you can't really afford to do that – lose two weeks in a row and you are all but out of contention for the money. It is definitely a gamble going up against Grossman as a starting QB in fantasy football, but I don't mind rolling the dice against him, because on average, he is just that – average and prone to make some Plummer or Quincy Carter game mistakes.

Dubz: Gross man... just plain gross.  I had him when he was tearing it up... guess that would be the hill.  Had him when we came screamin' down to the valley too.  Not fun.  Won't make the mistake again, so I'm happy to see someone else make it.

7. LaMont Jordan

Tim: If you are in a league big enough to have this guy on your team, there better be like 24 teams in the league. If I see my opponent has this guy – well I'll be laughing all the way to the bank where I'll cash your check. You see, it isn't that he sucks so bad – it's just like Randy Moss the past couple seasons – the team sucks so bad, no matter how good, or how much potential a player might have, that player can't play every position, and definitely can't beat 11 other guys, I don't care who you are, or how great you may be. Anyone on/around Oakland, be it sea, land, air – what ever – stay away. And laugh at your opponents when they think they have a "sleeper" in Jordan.

Dubz:  I can see him gettin' drafted in leagues, have seen it all year so far.  It is sad to see, but I have seen it.  He plays for the Raiders... do I have to say anything else?

8. David Boston

Tim: Who? He plays on what team? Oh.  Yeah, that's the David Boston conversation taking place all over the world as fantasy drafts start kicking off this season. This is a guy who even as a 5th string bench rider will burn you. He's got tons of potential – but season after season – it never fails, he burns the team owner. You don't really have to even laugh at a coach that you go up against with Boston in their lineup. That coach will probably have his tail tucked and head hanging – he already knows – so don't kick 'em while they are down – just enjoy your bye week equivalent and look forward to next week's opponent.

Dubz: Does he still play?  I had to look him up... thought he was on hiatus.  This guy gives Boston a bad name.  I will never visit Boston, just because of David burning me like the Texas sun.  They don't call him "Bust"on for nothing.  Line him up against me anytime, I love huntin' goose eggs.

9. Byron Leftwich

Tim: Do I even need to write anything here? Seriously, you want me to write something here? Ok then. Let me copy and paste what I just wrote about Boston here. Same story, different guy. Actually, you could throw a little Grossman in here too. There are weeks where he shows signs of life in that strong left arm of his – but it is just enough to overthrow his receiver and get picked off. Yeah, umm – ok, NEXT.

Dubz:  I had Leftwich one time, back when he was a sleeper.  He got the start when Brunell went down and I was lucky enough to reap the benefits.  This was before defenses figured him out.  It didn't take long and people were riding on the Byron train - thinking he was the next Daunte Culpepper.  So much for that idea... I love seeing that guy facing my team.  He's a joke.

10. Dante Hall

Tim: Now Hall is a tough one. What does he do? Did you even know his name before he ran back those kick's two years ago? Highly doubtful, unless you are a raving KC fan. Well, now he's a STL Ram, he's small, quick, and so fast that sometimes he leaves the ball behind… as in fumbles. His highlight reel consists of a couple of kick returns where he shredded the kicking team like a paper shredder and past due bills. Yeah, he did well – wait, did he retire? Oh no, he's still there – just still isn't doing anything. When you opponent shows up with this guy as a starter, you can laugh, it's ok, go ahead and talk some trash – his number is gotten. Written down – everyone knows his game, and most teams won't even kick to him. He's a done deal – his only game was returns, after all, the guy averages a little over 1 touchdown a season…

Dubz: Have to agree - no questions here.  He sucks as a WR, which is why he is on the special teams unit. ;)  This dude takes the short bus to work; you want him facing you come Sunday.  He isn't the return man he once was - I think that was more than a couple years ago... or at least it seems like it anyhow haha.
